Living Himalayan Textile Provenance

Honoring centuries of handloom craftsmanship across Nepal

At bhote, clothing is a cultural archive. We collaborate with master artisans, foragers, and dye artists across Kathmandu and high Himalayan valleys to revive ancient botanical recipes, heirloom drop-spindles, and tactile loom traditions.

Stage 01100% WILD ALLA NETTLE
Wild Himalayan Allo Harvest & Hand-Spinning
Harvested sustainably above 2,500 meters in eastern Nepal, wild giant nettle stalks are stripped, boiled in wood ash, and hand-spun on traditional drop spindles by master village spinners.
Stage 02100% NATURAL COLORANTS
Pure Botanical & Mineral Dye Vats
Our rich earthy palette draws directly from indigenous flora. We extract madder root for deep terracotta, wild walnut husk for soft earthen oats, and turmeric root for vibrant sunlit ochre.
Stage 03SLOW LOOM HERITAGE
Ancient Backstrap & Frame Loom Weaving
Each garment length is woven thread by counted thread on wooden frame looms. The artisan sets tension with bodily poise, creating rhythmic selvages that machine mills cannot emulate.

Fair Artisan Direct Partnership

Every garment supports independent Himalayan weaving guilds.
